Blended learning is an instructional approach that combines elements of online and face-to-face learning, which makes it extremely valuable to today’s educators. Blended learning gives educators the flexibility to adapt their teaching as needed—whether effectively conducting remote learning during a prolonged school closure or offering personalized pathways to diverse learners.

By providing educators with the ability to design and facilitate learning experiences that help teachers better connect with their students, blended learning models can help combat teacher burnout and motivate students who are bored and frustrated in classrooms where teachers dictate their learning.

The science of reading is a growing body of converging evidence that provides insights into how children learn to read and the proven instructional practices needed to help them become proficient, thriving readers. Consisting of more than 40 years of research and analyses, the science of reading helps teachers better understand the types of structured, sequenced reading instruction and assessments that work best while students benefit from learning to read using proven practices.
